Located
in central San Francisco, the
Jewish Community Library is much more
than a resource for Jewish books. It
serves as a gateway for individuals and families to encounter Jewish
history, ideas, texts, to take part in informal classes and workshops,
and to be exposed to Jewish culture through a diverse array of
speakers, art exhibits, films, and programs for families. The
Library is a program of the Bureau of Jewish Education of San
Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin and Sonoma Counties. For more
information, go to www.bjesf.org/library.htm
The
Friends
of
the Jewish
Community Library is an independent nonprofit organization,
founded in
1984. Its
mission is to raise funds for Library programs, to promote the Library
in the Jewish and general community, and to assist the Library in its
goal of achieving excellence as a resource for Jewish enlightenment and
education.
